Designing jewelry is a composite of two things I love, art and nature. As an Arizona artist and metalsmith, I have a passion for nature's creations, and I draw my inspiration from the details, patterns, and textures of my Arizona surroundings.

My process stems not from a literal interpretation of my environment but instead from my emotional response to the abstract shapes and forms. Arizona has beautiful luminous sunsets paralleling the smooth shiny surfaces of my art. It also has the wonderful textures of rugged mountains and desert cacti, which inspire me to incorporate surface designs and other dynamic metal patterns. Most recently, I have been focusing on more contemporary concepts. These pieces are less assuming with the stones the center of focus just as nature presents us with a simple scene punctuated with colorful blooms.

The diversity of the desert inspires me to create wearable pieces of art that incorporate surface embellishments, interesting stones and linear forms.
We are in contact with millions of people during our lives whether through business contacts, social events or everyday errands. We do not audibly speak to everyone, but an artistic well composed piece of jewelry relays to the world our affinity for art. As a result, our personalities are highlighted, defined and expressed. I strive to capture this individuality with every piece I create.
